Are there opportunities for remote work at MultiCare?

Applications & Hiring Process

How can I apply for a job at MultiCare?

This process varies depending on whether or not you are an external candidate or a current MultiCare employee:

  • External candidates should visit our Careers page and search for jobs that match your skills and interests. Once you find a job you’re interested in, click “Apply Now” and follow the instructions to submit your application.
  • Current MultiCare employees need to apply for positions through our internal job portal. Log in to Workday and then navigate to the “Jobs Hub” section to apply.

What positions are available at MultiCare?

We offer a wide range of positions across our network, including roles in nursing, allied health, administrative support, information technology and more. Visit our job listings to see current openings.

I wanted to apply for a position I saw here, but it’s not listed anymore. Can I still apply?

We regularly post new positions and remove positions that are no longer open or have been filled. If a job isn’t on our site, then we’re not taking applications at this time.

What is the hiring process at MultiCare?

Our hiring process typically includes the following steps:

  • Application Submission: Submit your application online.
  • Initial Screening: Our recruiting team reviews applications including the candidate’s education, experience and licensures.
  • Assessment: If selected, you will be texted and emailed a link to an online assessment for our team to learn more about you. The online assessment only takes about 10-15 minutes to complete.
  • Interview Process: If selected, you will be contacted for an interview, which may include phone, video or in-person interviews.
  • Offer and Onboarding: Successful candidates will receive an offer of employment and instructions for onboarding.

How can I check the status of my application?

You can log in to your candidate profile on our Careers page to check the status of your application. We will also notify you via email about important updates.

I applied but haven’t heard from anyone yet. Will I be contacted?

We often get hundreds of applications for our open positions. We follow federal requirements when we review applications, and we contact the people we’d like to learn more about. Unfortunately, we’re not able to make personal contact with people we’re not moving forward with. We encourage you to log in to your application profile and check the status of jobs you’ve applied to.

Why was my interview cancelled?

Interviews can be cancelled for several reasons including the job you applied for being filled. If your interview was cancelled, we recommend logging in to your candidate profile on our Careers page to check the status of your application.

Can I apply for more than one job?

Yes, you can apply for multiple positions that match your skills and interests. Each application will be considered separately based on the qualifications required for the position.

What should I include in my resume and cover letter?

Your resume should highlight your relevant experience, education and skills. In your cover letter, explain why you are interested in the position and how your background aligns with the job requirements. Tailoring both documents to the specific role will enhance your application.

I have multiple email addresses associated with my applications. Can I merge my accounts?

No. If you have different accounts associated with different applications, you’ll need to access your applications using your corresponding accounts.

I forgot my password to my candidate profile. How do I recover it?

From our Careers page login, use the “Forgot your password” button and enter your username. Remember to check your junk/spam folder in your email inbox for the password reset email.

I forgot my MultiCare candidate profile username. How do I recover it?

Sign in with your current email address.

My application status hasn’t changed. Who can I contact for an update?

Your dashboard is regularly updated to display the status of your applications. When an application status changes, your dashboard is updated in almost real-time.

I was referred for a role by a current MultiCare employee. What do I do now?

If the MultiCare employee has successfully submitted your referral information into Workday (Our HR System), you will receive an email to complete an application. If you have not received this email, check in with your connection at MultiCare to ensure they completed this step.

Do you provide reasonable accommodation for applicants?

Yes, if you are an external job applicant who requires reasonable accommodation in the job application process, please contact the Employee Resource Center (ERC) at 253-403-6947 and we will assist you with submitting a ticket to initiate your request for accommodation. If you are a current employee, you can submit an ERC ticket or call the ERC for assistance.

What’s E-Verify?

We are required by law to verify the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires. We do this by participating in the US Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify program.

Onboarding Process

What is MultiCare’s onboarding process?

If you’re a finalist, we’ll check references before extending a job offer. All offers are contingent upon acceptable results on a pre-employment drug screen, background check and submission of employee health documents. For management positions, finalists also complete a work preferences assessment. You will also complete onboarding tasks in Workday (Our HR System).

You will receive an email invitation from Cisive, please log in and carefully enter all the required information:

  • Background: You will include 7 years of home address history and employment history.
  • Drug Screen: You will be able to select a location convenient to you, based on input address. We will need this completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance.
  • Employee Health Documents: You will complete a 6-page Employee Health questionnaire and documentation of immunizations.

What are the onboarding tasks required in Workday?

If you accept an offer with us, you will receive an email invitation 30 days before your start date to log in to Workday. Please log in and complete the onboarding tasks assigned to you at your earliest convenience. Please note – this differs from the website where you applied.

Onboarding tasks include:

  • Enter your government ID information.
  • Complete your I-9.
  • Review and update your career profile.
  • Upload your badge photo.
  • Set up your payment elections including direct deposit.
  • Complete your W4 – federal withholding information.

What is tested for in the onboarding drug test?

MultiCare is a substance-free work environment. Finalists will be tested in accordance with our policy.

What if I have a medically prescribed drug use?

Our onboarding team will work with you and the MRO (Medical Review Officer) to review any positive results.

If I have something on my record from 5 years or less, will this affect my hiring ability?

It depends on the conviction. Some convictions are automatic disqualifications for employment with MultiCare, regardless of the conviction date. Candidates with certain convictions 5+ years ago will be considered for employment. Candidates with other convictions 3+ years ago will be considered for employment. If you are a finalist, please contact your Pre-Employment Specialist to discuss potential disqualifying convictions.

What will I do during my first week with MultiCare?

Your first week with MultiCare will include New Employee Orientation and training to familiarize you with the organization and your specific position. You will receive an invitation for NEO on the Friday afternoon before your start date. NEO is part virtual and part in-person, the location will depend on your region and position.
