College Job Shadow Program
The MultiCare College Job Shadow program provides a one-time, observation-only opportunity for students pursuing health care careers that require shadowing hours as part of their application process.
Note: This program does not include Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Medicine or pre-Medicine tracks. Participating schools must be accredited and have an active affiliation with MultiCare. Priority is given to local colleges and universities.

What are the requirements to be considered for a job shadow at MultiCare?
Applicants must be pursuing a healthcare discipline that requires job shadow hours to enter their academic program. Maximum 8-10 hours will be granted. All applicants must be at least 18 years old. Immunizations will be required to complete the application.
When should I apply?
We recommend applying 6–8 weeks before your program’s shadow hour deadline.
How many hours can I shadow?
Participants may complete up to 8 hours of job shadowing. Due to high demand, this is a one-time, observation-only experience.

What immunizations are required?
To ensure safety, all participants must provide documentation of the following:

Two (2) MMR vaccinations or proof of immunity

TB screening: either two negative skin tests or one QuantiFeron Gold blood test within the past 12 months

Two (2) Varicella (VZV) immunizations or proof of immunity

Tdap (received after age 18)

Hepatitis B vaccination series or immunity

Seasonal flu vaccine
Can I shadow a family member, relative, or my supervisor?
No. Applicants may not shadow family members, relatives or their direct supervisors. If you are a MultiCare employee, you may request a job shadow within your unit under a different colleague than your leader.
What is the dress code?
Professional business casual attire is required. Please wear closed-toe shoes. Jeans are not permitted.
