About the program

MultiCare’s Radiology Technologist Training Program is designed for imaging students who are nearing graduation and want a seamless transition into their career. This program provides the opportunity to work in a paid PRN role while completing your clinical training, helping you build experience, integrate into a team, and confidently step into a full-time imaging position after graduation.

Compensation and benefits

  • Paid PRN position during training
  • Benefits are not offered during the training period

Program cost

  • MultiCare does not cover program costs, CPR certification, testing or license fees

Program schedule

  • Open to students 3 to 6 months from graduation
  • Apply for a PRN Tech position while completing clinical rotations
  • Commitment to transition into a full-time (FTE) position upon graduation

Program requirements

  • Washington State Department of Health X-Ray Technician Limited Scope license
  • Eligible to take the ARRT registry or enrolled in an ARRT-accredited program
  • Must obtain ARRT RT(R) within 12 months of hire
  • Two letters of recommendation, including one from MultiCare
  • Minimum of 6 shifts every 6 weeks

Employment at MultiCare

Participants are hired as PRN employees during the program. After obtaining licensure, they transition into a full-time imaging role within MultiCare based on location and team fit.

We prioritize students completing clinical rotations through our affiliated programs, including Tacoma Community College, PIMA Medical Institute, Bellevue College, and Oregon Institute of Technology.
